First day with Regal Rose

Typically, the deadline for my buying project was the same day as the first day of the Clothes Show Live at the NEC, Birmingham. After handing in my report for my project and finishing the group presentation in the morning I sprinted from the university to the train station, hoping that I would get to the NEC before I had missed out on too much!
When I arrived there, I was greeted by the beautiful Rebecca from RegalRose who gave me my pass to the show.
The day went pretty quickly and very productively! I was at the stall with Rebecca and her twin sister, Louisa along with my dear friend, Olivia!
Here are some photos to give you an idea of how my day was spent!

The Clothes Show Live, Birmingham

During the Summer I emailed jewellery line, 'Regal Rose' if I could do a few weeks placement with them. Unfortunately as they do not do any placement schemes I was offered to help them during the Clothes Show in Birmingham this year! I was told this news around July and I can't believe it's finally here :) I will write a post for each day to keep you updated with what's happening everyday at the NEC!

November was a fun filled month! A visit to London to gain inspiration for my Visual Merchandising project, conveying surveys for my Marketing report, going to a Passion Pit gig and celebrating my 21st :)

Cow Vintage

A little delayed, but I went to Cow Vinatge in Digbeth on the 6th of October with my sister who came up to visit me before attending a family friends wedding.
If you've ever visited Digbeth, you know that The Custard Factory is notoriously well known for its hold of Vintage shops and quirky places to hang out! Cow Vintage is situated about 5 minutes walk away from The Custard Factory and I greatly recommend it.

Third Year.

Add caption
To think that it was two years ago when I first went into Student Halls in Birmingham to start my degree, and here I am writing this a week into starting my third year. Where does the time go?
In preparation for a group presentation on 'Visual Merchandising' that's due in for next week, I visited the Bullring to gain some inspiration. I always appreciate the way a stores window display can draw you in, by close observation I took into account the current trends for this Season that were shown in almost every display. In particular, 'baroque,' big, chunky textured knitwear, flapper-esque designs and gothicism were very apparent along with a vibe of the Military design being thrown in.

My boyfriend and I went to London to watch a play that was written by and starred his older brother. The next day we decided to do a bit of shopping around Oxford Street and Camden. I loved the black studded wedges from Urban Outfitters. They looked so comfortable and practical for everyday wear.
Pretty Camden Lock.

I enjoyed walking around Camden Town and appreciating the wide range of stalls.
After a day of walking around, we decided to end our day in London by having a feast in Gourmet Burger Kitchen. The mint milkshake is to die for.

and some gifts from loved ones.

For the final project of Second Year, we were assigned to write our own briefs. I researched current trends and produced two mood boards. One represented botanical prints and the other represented pastel tones. I also wrote a short trend article that backed up all of the research that I had done for the project.
