June Food Highlights

I know I start off almost every post by pondering about where the year is going, but seriously...HOW is it already July?

The month of June was fabulous and of course, it will filled with visiting so many new and already loved restaurants and coffee shops. Enjoy :)

Saint Kitchen- St Pauls Square, Birmingham

I lived in Birmingham for 3 years, and how I wish Saint Kitchen was around during my student days. After perusing the breakfast menu, I opted for the coconut milk pancakes topped with Seasonal berries, vanilla ricotta, chopped mint and flaxseeds, and oh boy was it oh so delicious. The texture of the pancakes were light and fluffy with just the right hints of coconut coming through.

The decor inside Saint Kitchen looks like something straight out of my pinterest board with bright bursts of flowers on every table. If you're heading to Birmingham soon, I would highly recommend Saint Kitchen.

Milgi- City Road, Cardiff

I love Milgi's and this vegetarian restaurant will forever be my favourite place to eat and drink in Cardiff. I popped in for a much needed catch up with my beautiful friend Hann where we demolished the tastiest vegan cakes and cold drinks under the sun. Their pineapple and carrot cake was oh so delicious and I can't wait to try out more of their lovely fresh bakes.

Street Food- Roath Yard, Cardiff

I love the food community in Cardiff and the absolute endless amount of choices that the city offers. I popped in with my boyfriend on the sunniest Sunday afternoon where we gorged on the tastiest food by Brother Thai, followed by chocolate doughnuts from The Early Bird all washed down with some Elderflower Tom Collins. We left with such content bellies!

Nine Yards- Cardiff

Enjoyed lots of yummy pastries and flat whites under the sun whilst people watching. One of life's simple pleasures, I must admit!

Fino Lounge- Whitchurch, Cardiff

Llew and I spend a good 80% of our relationship eating good food and we're so blessed to have the lovely Fino Lounge in Whitchurch. We paid an impromptu visit and enjoyed the best tapas with cocktails. I love this place!

Lufkin Coffee- Pontcanna, Cardiff

Ventured down to Pontcanna all the way from Whitchurch to enjoy some farewell (non alcoholic) drinks with my dearest Ellie. Lufkin Coffee is somewhere we have wanted to visit for so so long and it definitely did not disappoint. The decor is quaint and effortless with awesome literature and magazines on sale too! I love little added touches like that.

We both opted for the iced flat whites (who knew such a thing existed?) and generous slices of carrot cake whilst talking about everything and anything. I love Ellie!

Yorks Bakery -Stephenson Street, Birmingham

I got off the coach and marched straight to Yorks Bakery after so many lovely people recommended this to me on my twitter. I love matcha and I love turmeric, so naturally I ordered the matcha turmeric latte with a slab of homemade brownie.

Small Bar, Cardiff

Llew gorged on the Peach and Almond pancakes whilst I demolished the Spanish eggs. I'm already looking forward to going back and sampling erm...everything else on the menu. Smashed avocado and feta is one of my favourite combinations too!
