Freedom

Well, well, well. It's been a long time.  I must begin by apologising for the lack of my posts lately. I had SO much uni work to do but thankfully it's all over now. I handed in my last ever Uni project on Wednesday and freedom has never felt so better. After going nearly 48 hours without any sleep, I can't believe that three years of being a student is all over..what's next? Such a scary and daunting thought that I'm sure any other third year students around the country are worrying about as well. Good luck to us all :)

I thought I would extract some bits of my last project for this post and share it with you all. Basically, I was able to write my own brief and dictate in which direction I wanted to take the final project. As I have always enjoyed incorporating Fashion aspects into my Textiles and Retail work, I decided to take on the role of a stylist in this project and made a Look book to go alongside a hefty 9,000 words research report on 'trends and style.' Phew!

I'm fortunate that my friend, Olivia, is a Visual Communications student who specialises in photography so she was able to help me out and take photos for my Look book. The lovely Amy modelled for me and I was very lucky that everything went to plan. I decided to focus in on the obvious, current trends that we're all wearing or are everywhere in the stores. I hope you enjoy the pictures and the outfits that I put together. Hope your exams and courseworks are going well :) Enjoy your bank holiday!

A hint of neon is always refreshing on statement accessories and nails or on one piece of garment- it's never too overwhelming when you do it correctly. I don't know anyone who doesn't own anything that isn't high waisted or cropped. The proportion that is created once these two looks are paired up is so feminine. playful and makes you think of the summer.

There is something very nostalgic about clashing prints. The way two prints that shouldn't work together end up working and complimenting one another when paired up.

We can't deny that monochrome is everywhere. So chic and effortless, yet so timeless. The use of the flower crown adds more youth to the outfit as it evokes a festival look.
There is nothing that I love more than unconventional trends that end up working. Again, the nostalgia of wearing socks with sandals really evokes a playful character.
